BBC & CNN Intergenerational Dialogue on Ethical Technology & Responsible AI

The BETA Project established a structured intergenerational dialogue platform that brought together the Born Before Computers (BBC) and Connected New Now (CNN) generations to reflect on the evolution of technology and its impact on society. Elders shared experiences on leadership, community values, conflict resolution, and accountability before the digital age, while young people explored how artificial intelligence, social media, and emerging technologies influence education, relationships, and civic engagement today.

Conducted in both English and Hausa, the dialogue created safe and inclusive spaces for learning, debate, and collaboration. Participants examined ethical concerns such as misinformation, digital exclusion, online abuse, data privacy, and the erosion of cultural values, while identifying community-driven approaches for responsible technology use and AI governance.
