Technology Facilitated Gender Based Violence Training for Guidance Counsellors

The BETA Project conducted a specialised one-day training for secondary school guidance counsellors to strengthen their capacity as frontline responders to digital harms affecting students. The training addressed emerging challenges such as cyberbullying, online harassment, deepfakes, misinformation, unsafe digital behaviour, and technology-facilitated gender-based violence.

Participants gained practical knowledge on student protection, psychosocial support, data privacy, and school-based safeguarding mechanisms. Through interactive exercises and policy design workshops, counsellors developed strategies for promoting responsible AI awareness, supporting vulnerable learners, and creating safer digital environments within schools.
