Imagine a young girl full of dreams and hope, suddenly forced to undergo a harmful practice that will probably change her life forever.
Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is not just a tradition—it is a violation of human rights that continues to affect millions of girls worldwide.

Over the past few months, Smart Aid Initiative has been committed to tackling FGM through **chool outreach, advocacy, community, and media engagement. By partnering with community-based organizations and policymakers we are raising awareness and driving action to end this practice—ensuring that future generations of girls grow up safe, healthy, and empowered.

Our Impact So Far

  • 🎓 Trained 23 community-based organizations on the dangers of FGM and strategies to combat it.
  • 🏫 Conducted sensitization programs in secondary schools across Kaduna State, Nigeria, educating 600 young girls and boys about the risks and consequences of FGM.
  • 📢 Engaged 4 local communities through advocacy and media campaigns, fostering dialogue and shifting mindsets on harmful traditional practices.
Every girl deserves to grow up confident, safe, and free.

The first step in breaking the cycle of FGM is education—understanding the facts rather than myths and raising awareness about its lifelong consequences.

Together, we can break the cycle of FGM.

FGM is preventable—but only if we speak out, educate, and take action.

When individuals, communities, organizations, and policymakers work together, we create lasting change and protect millions of girls from its devastating effects.

Change starts with you. Stand with us against FGM.

🔹 Speak out.
🔹 Educate others.
🔹 Take action.
